Our favorite Anker budget wireless headphones are cheaper than ever during Amazon’s spring sale

Although it’s not technically another Prime Day, the Amazon Spring Sale includes decent deals on many of the gadgets we recommend. Case in point: You can buy the Anker Soundcore Space A40, our top pick in our guide to the best budget wireless headphones , for an all-time low price of $49. That’s $1 less than the noise-canceling headphone’s previous all-time low price, and $10 less than the typical street price over the past few months. This deal is sold direct from Anker and is available on the black model; the blue and white versions are also available for a dollar more if you prefer a different look.

This is the lowest price yet for Anker’s wallet-friendly wireless headphones.

We like the Space A40 because it combines pleasant sound with strong active noise cancellation (ANC) and most of the features you’ll find on more expensive earbuds. The ANC isn’t as powerful as higher-end offerings like the Sony WF-1000XM5, especially when it comes to silence and other treble-range sounds, but it’s still well above its price range. By default, it automatically adapts to the noise level of your surroundings, but you can also manually set it to different intensity levels.

While this isn’t the most detailed-sounding headset you can buy, it’s more enjoyable than most budget-level options we’ve tested. It boosts the high and low range right out of the box without feeling bloated or sloppy. If you don’t like the default sound profiles, you can choose from multiple EQ presets or customize your own EQ curves through Anker’s companion app.

The actual headphones are lightweight and comfortable, with an IPX4 waterproof rating that’s strong enough to withstand most workouts. It lasts for about 8 hours per charge, and can be used for about 40 more hours with the compact case that supports wireless charging. They can also connect to two devices at the same time. There are still some drawbacks: the microphone is mediocre for making phone calls; the touch-based controls are a bit limited; and there’s no wear detection, so the music doesn’t automatically pause when you remove the earbuds. But at this price, the pros should outweigh the cons.

The discount is part of a wider sale on Anker headphones, which includes our guide’s runner-up, the Soundcore Liberty 4 NC, for $74.50. This is a $25 discount. The Space A40 is a better value, but for those who prefer an AirPods-esque design, the two products offer most of the same benefits. Other in-ear and over-ear models are also discounted.
